Hi! This is Jordan's Mom. I wanted to share Jordan's first day of school experience. He woke up and cried. He said " he didn't want to go to school" he sobbed until I dropped him off. He was filled with anxiety. I kissed him and sent him on his way hoping his day would improve. To my surprise when I picked him up after school he was elated. The first thing he said was " Mom, I have a really good feeling about my fourth grade year and I really like my new teacher". He sounded able, confident and very excited. Music to my ears! Thank you everyone!

I had a hard camp this week outside at the park. It was not easy at all because everything was different and new. The coaches were yelling to keep everything in order, but I knew I was doing everything correct. Sometimes it was confusing because I didn't know if they were talking to me. The chlorine in the pool made my eyes blurry, but I did have fun jumping off the high diving board!
One day when I came to math from camp I was so tired that it was too hard to think. It was really hard to read the numbers because of my blurry eyes. Ms Lori gave me a cup of water and then I was like a pistol! I learned to drink water when I'm tired. I also learned some tricks for subtracting by making and using tens.
I appreciate the people who are helping me to learn the math that I need to catch up on. Thank You!

This week I was very tired. I felt like I was falling asleep with Ms. Lori and it made me feel like I had potatoes in my ears! I learned that when I am tired I am not able to concentrate at all and learning is very hard. Ms Lori taught me to never give up even if a new math problem seems impossible. Sometimes at school I just stop because it's so hard and then the teacher starts something new, but I still have no idea what is going on. I learned that something that starts off really hard is very easy in the end if you stick with it. This happened for me this week when we were learning how to do mental math by changing some numbers.

I just finished my first week of tutoring. It’s not so easy, but at the same time, it kind of is. I have had a hard life since I was a baby and I’ve also had a hard life growing up. School is the place that has helped me to learn how to help others and also meet a lot of friends who can help me. I have done a lot of math in the past week and these properties of Addition were one of the hardest things for me to learn: Zero Property, Commutative Property, and Associative Property. Ms. Lori is one of the coolest tutors I’ve had!
